WRH Expansion
Weatherford, OK, November 23, 2009 – Physician recruitment success including Jimmie Jackson, MD, General Surgeon and future obstetric/gynecologist Tori O'Daniel, MD (August 2010) and Greg Eppard, MD (August 2012) and the additional family practice physicians will expand the types and number of surgical procedures at Weatherford Regional. This also brings the need to complete the Hospital master building plan. The original plan included building of 93,000 square feet was pared down to 62,000 meet the budget. The new project will add another 25,000 square feet.
Weatherford Regional Hospital is requesting sales tax support of $1,022,000 toward a 7.4 million building expansion. The sales tax revenue will be targeted for construction and equipment of a new surgical suite. The sales tax support will also prove community support for completion of the expansion including rehabilitation in-house with a therapy exercise pool, business office, four specialty clinic spaces for visiting physicians and a conference center. The Hospital will also shell space on the 2nd floor of the professional building which will be attached to the hospital west entrance for future services.
